Totally to opposed Dorothy and Stan's impending nuptials, Sophia vows to stop the ceremony. Blanche and Rose interview potential new roommates as Dorothy and Stan plan their wedding.
Plot[]
The wedding is being prepared and Sophia is still against it. Rose convinces her that her daughter is a grown woman and so deserves to make her own choices. However, that day, Myra comes to the house. She isn't there to cause trouble. She admits she never got over the divorce and so her children decide she needs to move on by going to Shady Pines.
The day arrives. Sophia gives Dorothy her blessing, but before the service, Stan offers Dorothy the choice to sign a prenuptial agreement. Dorothy is angry and the trust Stan had built with her goes in seconds. She orders him out and tells the guests she won't be making the same mistake. While the new roommate knows that the room isn't hers anymore, she asks to stay for a couple of days as she's tired of hotels. Dorothy decides to go with Sophia on holiday using the honeymoon tickets Stan gave her to keep.[1]
Marvin Michelson was a lawyer who became famous for the "Palimony" suit brought against Lee Marvin by his live-in girlfriend.
Cultural references[]
The title refers to the composition "Here Comes the Bride", which is also known as "The Wedding March", "The Bridal Chorus" and "Treulich geführt" from the opera "Lohengrin" by the German composer Richard Wagner. It was first performed in Weimar, Germany in 1850.
Goofs[]
After trying to hand Rose the letter, Dorothy sets it down, and a sound is heard of it touching the table. In the next shot it's back in Dorothy's hand and she trying to give it to Rose again.
When Dorothy enters the living room and finds Stan and his lawyer, the lawyer is pulling on Stan's arm as if he's trying to get him out of a dangerous situation. They appear to be in the middle of some sort of action related to a joke that was going on before Dorothy enters, but whatever it was, it was obviously cut from the show before it aired.
