The Triangle was the fifth episode of the first season of The Golden Girls and the fifth episode overall. Directed by Jim Drake and written by Winifred Hervey, it premiered on NBC-TV on October 19th, 1985.
Dorothy dates Sophia's attractive doctor, Elliot Clayton. He makes a pass at Blanche, offending her. When she follows Rose's advice to tell Dorothy what happened, Dorothy accuses her of being jealous and refuses to talk to her. The next morning, as Dr. Clayton invites Dorothy to play golf, Rose exposes the truth by ensuring Dorothy overhears him hitting on her as well.
Plot[]
Sophia meets her new doctor, Elliot Clayton Dorothy is besotted when he asks her on a date. However he makes a pass at Blanche. When Blanche goes to Dorothy after Rose insists, Dorothy dismisses the accusation because she thinks Blanche is envious due to the fact Dorothy got him first and calls her a slut. The next day however Dorothy asks Elliot who denies it, after another insult to Blanche on her loose nature, she orders Dorothy to move out.
However that night, despite Sophia warning against it Rose decides to force Elliot to admit the truth. While Dorothy secretly listened, Rose successfully gets Elliot to admit he did make a pass, Dorothy ends her relationship with Elliot, while Dorothy and Blanche reconciled their friendship.[1]

Blanche tells Rose about how she lost her friend Anderbeau Johnson after telling her that her boyfriend Clyde trying to take off Blanche's cheerleading sweater. Anderbeau refused to believe Blanche due to her promiscuity, and Clyde never spoke to Blanche again after she told Anderbeau about his attempted cheating.
