Robert Williams, also known by his alias Eric, is a major one-off character in the 1988 NBC sitcom Empty Nest. An FBI agent assigned to investigate an activist group in Miami, Robert pretended to be an activist named Eric to infiltrate the group and ensure it was not being manipulated by radical elements. During his time there, he became romantically involved with Carol Weston. Once the FBI was sure that the activists were not a threat, Robert was reassigned to Chicacgo, whereupon he revealed the truth to Carol and asked her to come with him. Carol ultimately decided not to follow him.
Robert appeared in the Season 1 episode "Strange Bedfellows". He is portrayed by Franc Luc.
