Mario Sanchez was a student of Dorothy's, until it was notified that he was an undocumented immigrant.
Plot in Episode[]
Mario was a pupil at Dorothy's school, he’s a good listener and is willing to learn. He was in her English class and was taking extra lessons, he had a talent with writing essays, especially one about the first day he arrived in America and Dorothy decides to enter it into a district contest.
Mario ends up winning first prize. The girls throw him a surprise party and he’s touched for their surprise, however, just then a man called Burt Nesbitt appears at the door looking for Mario turns out Mario is an undocumented immigrant and risks deportation.
That night Mario runs away and Dorothy finds him at the cinema. She convinces him that if he goes to the courts that he might be given the chance to stay and promises to help him all the way. At the hearing Dorothy spent 20 minutes giving reasons but it was all in vain. The judge decides to deport Mario without delay and Dorothy promises to try and bring him back as he promises to do his schoolwork and write letters leaving Dorothy upset.
Mario never reappeared in the series or was mentioned.
