Uncle Mario Deceased A brother or uncle of Sophia's who was universally hated. At some point in his life, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and lived there until his death. Sophia was the only member of the Petrillos who attended his funeral, as Dorothy needed to get her tonsils taken out and Sal refused to go due to his own hatred of Mario.

While there is dispute as to how exactly he died, both instances both to murder. In "The Heart Attack", Dorothy mentions that when Mario was taking out the trash, he dropped his gun, which went off and shot him in the forehead. In "The Operation", Sophia says that when Dorothy was five, Mario was stabbed twenty-three times at a block party, but nobody at the party saw who did it.

Uncle Nunzio Deceased A brother or uncle of Sophia's. How he died is unknown, but Dorothy says that he died to get away from Aunt Teresa. "The Heart Attack"[49]
Uncle Vito Alive A brother or uncle of Sophia's who is affiliated with the Italian mafia. When Sophia was having trouble with Johnny No-Thumbs muscling on her and Rose's sandwich business, Sophia sent a letter to Uncle Vito asking for help.
