Gina Bosco is a major one-off character in the 1985 NBC sitcom The Golden Girls. She is the daughter of Dominic and Philomena Bosco, but a recent blood test revealed that Gina may not have been related to the Boscos and was instead the daughter of their longtime friend Sophia Petrillo.
Gina appeared in the Season 4 episode "Foreign Exchange". She is portrayed by Flo Di Re.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Gina was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 31st, 1931, to Italian immigrants Dominic and Philomena Bosco. Gina was born just minutes apart from Dorothy Zbornak. This led their respective mothers becoming good friends, and the Petrillos and Boscos were good friends until the Boscos moved back to Sicily, Italy.[1]
Foreign Exchange[]
At some point before the episode "Foreign Exchange", Gina became engaged to a man named Guido. Gina took a blood test for an unknown reason, and when the results came back, it was revealed that Gina may not have been the Boscos' daughter and that she and Dorothy were switched at birth. The Boscos travelled to Miami, Florida, to tell Sophia and Dorothy what had happened.[1]
