Biography[]
Early life[]
David was born to George Devereaux and a unknown mother sometimes during November or December 1967 in Dallas, Texas. Whether Miss Patton knew George was married isn't known, but she told David that his father was dead.[1]
Searching for George[]
On her deathbed, David's mother told him that his father was George Devereaux. Davis comes to Miami to search for his father, George. He arrives at the house to ask if George is available but learns from Blanche that George had passed away several years earlier. When the women ask who he is, David claims to be an encyclopedia salesman and George was on his list before quickly leaving.[1]
He soon begins to follow Blanche around at the market and sit outside her house in his vehicle until Blanche, thinking David is in love with her, decides to confront him and David reveals that he is George's illegitimate son with proof to back up his claim. Blanche, in shock at hearing George cheated on her, turns David away from her home and refuses to answer his questions about his father. Eventually, Blanche realizes she was wrongly taking her anger toward George out on David. She finally answers several of his questions and gives him a photo of George on a boat.[1]
