Complainin' in the Rain is the fourteenth episode of the second season of Empty Nest and the thirty-sixth episode overall. Directed by Steve Zuckerman and written by Harold Kimmel, it premiered on NBC-TV on January 27th, 1990.

Summary[]

Tired of Carol's complaining, Barbara challenges her to spend the day being spontaneous. This leads to them gatecrashing a party that turns out to be a prestigious Democratic fundraiser. Meanwhile, Harry and Laverne duel over what happened on the day Laverne was hired, but when they appeal to Otto the janitor for his version, his story is all about himself.
